# Send Email From Windsurf

Windsurf is now Devin Desktop, and its agent is Devin Local. Devin Local reads MCP servers from the same config files as [Devin CLI](https://inboxjot.com/docs/mcp/devin.md). Add Inboxjot there, sign in, and the agent can send email, read delivery status and draft campaigns.

## Add the Server

Add the server to `~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json` to use it in every project. On Windows, the file is `%APPDATA%\devin\mcp_config.json`.

```json ~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "inboxjot": {
      "url": "https://mcp.inboxjot.com",
      "transport": "http"
    }
  }
}
```

To share it with your team, put the same JSON in `.devin/mcp_config.json` in the repository instead. If the file already has servers, add the inboxjot entry inside `mcpServers`.

## Sign In

Open the MCP list in Devin Desktop. The inboxjot server shows Needs auth. Choose Authenticate and sign in to Inboxjot in the browser. With Devin CLI, run `devin mcp login inboxjot` instead.

Inboxjot then asks you to pick a workspace and the access the tool gets. See [Access](https://inboxjot.com/docs/mcp.md#access).

## Check the Connection

The inboxjot server shows in the MCP list with no Needs auth label. With Devin CLI, run `devin mcp list`.

Devin Local asks you to approve each MCP tool call by default. You can allow one tool or every Inboxjot tool, for the session or for good. Approve `send_email` with care, because it sends real email.

## Try It

- “Send a test email from <hello@yourdomain.com> to me with the subject Hello.”
- “Show my open and click rates for the last campaign.”
- “Add a password reset email to this app and send me one with Inboxjot.”
- “Create a draft campaign for the new pricing.”

## Remove the Server

Delete the inboxjot entry from `mcp_config.json`. With Devin CLI, run `devin mcp remove inboxjot`. To cut access from the Inboxjot side, revoke the tool on the MCP page of the dashboard.
