# Send Email From Cursor

Cursor connects to remote MCP servers with a URL in its `mcp.json` file. Add Inboxjot there, sign in, and the Cursor agent can send email, read delivery status and draft campaigns.

## Add the Server

Add the server to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` to use it in every project:

```json ~/.cursor/mcp.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "inboxjot": {
      "url": "https://mcp.inboxjot.com"
    }
  }
}
```

To share it with your team, put the same JSON in `.cursor/mcp.json` at the root of the repository instead. If the file already has servers, add the inboxjot entry inside `mcpServers`. Restart Cursor after you edit the file by hand.

## Sign In

Open Customize in the Cursor sidebar and sign in to inboxjot. Cursor opens Inboxjot in the browser.

Inboxjot then asks you to pick a workspace and the access the tool gets. See [Access](https://inboxjot.com/docs/mcp.md#access).

## Check the Connection

The inboxjot server shows in Customize with its tools. If it does not connect, open the Output panel and choose MCP Logs.

Cursor asks you to approve each tool call by default. Approve `send_email` with care, because it sends real email.

## Try It

- “Send a test email from <hello@yourdomain.com> to me with the subject Hello.”
- “Is my domain verified? Which DNS records are missing?”
- “Build the welcome email for this app and send me a test with Inboxjot.”
- “List the emails that bounced today.”

## Remove the Server

Delete the inboxjot entry in Customize, or remove it from `mcp.json`. The toggle in Customize turns it off without removing it. To cut access from the Inboxjot side, revoke the tool on the MCP page of the dashboard.
