# Send Email From Claude Code

Claude Code connects to the Inboxjot MCP server over HTTP. Add the server once, sign in, and Claude Code can send email, read delivery status and draft campaigns while it works on your code.

## Add the Server

Run this in your terminal:

```bash Terminal
claude mcp add --transport http inboxjot https://mcp.inboxjot.com
```

The server is added for the current project only. Add `--scope user` to use it in every project. Add `--scope project` to write it to `.mcp.json` in the repository, so your team gets it too. Claude Code asks each person to approve a server from `.mcp.json` before it runs.

## Sign In

Start Claude Code, run `/mcp`, select inboxjot and sign in to Inboxjot in the browser. You can also run `claude mcp login inboxjot` from the shell.

Inboxjot then asks you to pick a workspace and the access the tool gets. See [Access](https://inboxjot.com/docs/mcp.md#access).

## Check the Connection

```bash Terminal
claude mcp list
```

The inboxjot server shows as connected. `claude mcp get inboxjot` shows its details. The `claude mcp add` command does not test the connection, so check it once after you sign in.

## Try It

- “Send a test email from <hello@yourdomain.com> to me with the subject Hello.”
- “Why did the last email to <riti@example.com> bounce?”
- “Add a password reset email to this app and send one to me with Inboxjot.”
- “Draft a campaign about this release from the changelog.”

## Remove the Server

```bash Terminal
claude mcp remove inboxjot
```

This also deletes the stored sign-in. To cut access from the Inboxjot side, revoke the tool on the MCP page of the dashboard.
