# Rate Limits

Each API key can make 10 requests per second. A request over the limit answers `429` with `rate_limit_exceeded`. Wait for the time in `Retry-After` and try again.

Sending also counts toward the workspace’s daily sending limit, one for each recipient. A send over that limit answers `429` with a message that names the limit. It resets at midnight UTC.
