# Overview

The Inboxjot API is a JSON API over HTTPS. Use it to send email and campaigns, manage contacts, segments and topics, track events, and set up domains, templates and webhooks from your own code.

Every request goes to the base URL below and carries an API key. Request and response bodies are JSON, so send `Content-Type: application/json` with every body.

## Base URL

All paths in this reference are relative to `https://api.inboxjot.com`.

## Ids

Each object has an id with a type prefix, such as `eml_` for an email and `con_` for a contact. Ids sort by creation time.

## Responses

A request that succeeds answers with a 2xx status. A send answers `202 Accepted` because Inboxjot delivers the email in the background. Every response has an `X-Request-Id` header. Include it when you contact support.
